National Testing Laboratories (NTL) is one of the largest independent laboratories in the U.S, specializing in analyzing drinking water for chemical and microbiological contamination. The corporate office in Cleveland, Ohio, is integral to the operation of our laboratory facility. 

National Testing Laboratories is located in Ypsilanti, Michigan.  Since 1985, they have offered a wide range of services for residential and commercial customers.  

Commercial customers include public water systems, environmental consultants, engineers, water treatment professionals, bottled water plants, well drillers, food producers, pharmaceutical companies, laboratories, and home inspectors. 

National Testing Laboratories performs analysis according to USEPA and Standard Methods to meet state compliance in addition to performing informational tests for quality control purposes.  They hold certifications in many states across the country to provide regulatory testing to meet customers' needs.  NTL successfully participates in the USEPA Proficiency Testing Program, and their laboratory management system is ISO 17025 accredited.  

Their technical representatives contribute to various industry associations, including the International Bottled Water Association and the Water Quality Association, and many state and regional associations.  Their staff of industry experts is frequently sought after for educational seminars on water quality and water testing topics.

Corrosion Check 

An informational testing package was developed for people experiencing signs of corrosion in their plumbing fixtures. This test analyzes contaminants that can specifically affect corrosion. This package can be used for well water and city water.

Problem Check 

The Problem-Check analyzes water for the 20 most common nuisance contaminants. It was designed to help people who are experiencing problems with iron (this test package checks both total and dissolved iron and iron bacteria). Additionally, we look at other contaminants that can cause aesthetic issues such as odor, taste, or discoloration.

Tannins 

Tannins are naturally occurring and can cause aesthetic problems such as discoloration, a possible tangy aftertaste, and an earthy or musty odor. The water may be yellowish and can cause staining on laundry and fixtures.

Information Glyphosate

For those who may not recognize the chemical name Glyphosate, it is the most widely used herbicide on the market today, known as Roundup™. I’m sure many of us have a bottle of this on hand to deal with those pesky weeds in our landscaping. This test would solely look for Glyphosate with a detection level of 0.1 mg/L or parts per million.
