Inorganics

What are Inorganic Contaminants?

Inorganics can include a combination of metals, salts, compounds, particles, and mineral complexes and, depending on the inorganic, can be regulated under Primary or Secondary Drinking Water Standard and also as an unregulated contaminant with No Standard.

How do Inorganics impact the Aesthetic, Cosmetic and/or Technical Effects on water?

As a Secondary Contaminant, inorganics can impact the taste, appearance, smell, or interfere with the normal use of the water.

The Secondary Standards also include other characteristics or Conditions like Color, Taste and Odor, Corrosivity, Foaming Agents, pH, and Total Dissolved Solids that may be associated with a combination of inorganic and organic compounds or unregulated contaminants that do not have specific standards, i.e. No Standards.

Self-Test Web App
Because Secondary Inorganic Contaminants may be associated with a combination of Aesthetic, Cosmetic, and Technical Effects, these readily observable traits or characteristics can be used to do an initial diagnosis using our Self Testing Web App

The following are common Inorganics regulated under secondary standards:
